The American Royal is just days away for Halley Flory and she’s making final preparations:
“If I had two words to describe how I’m feeling, it would be nervous and excited! Looking back at where we came from, my goals with my heifer, Double, have certainly changed on our Road to the Royal. At the beginning of the year I wanted to make her comfortable on the lead and now I focus on walking into her stance with her head up. We adjusted her feed in the middle of the year to trim a little fat. While it’s been challenging to work with her during school, I’ve been working with her a lot lately knowing the show is only one week away.”
As one Road to the Royal closes, another one opens. Halley’s friend, Amanda, just participated in the 2017 American Royal Calf Scramble and won a stipend to purchase a calf of her own and show next year!
