As the junior national gets closer and closer (68 days away, eek!), we want to highlight a particular cause we will participate in this summer. For the 2023 National Junior Heifer Show, we would like to challenge each state to collect pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities!
At Ronald McDonald House Charities, they keep families with sick children close to each other and the care and resources they need. In addition, they help provide housing for families with sick children in hospitals nationwide.
How the pop tab program helps – Each Ronald McDonald House collects pop tabs, and their local recyclers buy them at market rate and make an additional charitable donation for each pop tab contained.
So how can we help? By collecting the tabs off of all your sodas! We challenge all families to start collecting at home and in the States to order more during the week of junior national! The state with the most collected by the end of the week will receive an award. It is recommended to order the tabs in Ziploc bags or something similar; a plastic jug is not recommended, but still acceptable.
