Letter from IJBBA President Avery Shalla

Hello, my name is Avery Shalla. I am happy to announce that I am this year’s IJBBA President! I am beyond excited to take on this role. I am from Riverside, IA, and I am currently a freshman at Iowa State University majoring in Agricultural Communications. Currently at Iowa State I am involved in Block and Bridle, Beef Interest Group, Goat Interest Group, and The Classic Show Committee. Outside of school, I am involved in FFA and IJBBA. I have been showing cattle since I was 6 years old at the local, state, and national levels, traveling all over the country and receiving many successes along the way. I also began showing goats when I was 14, and have had much success with that as well. I have been blessed with many opportunities within the livestock industry, and have met so many amazing people! My advice to younger youth is that hard work will pay off! Enjoy every moment because it goes so fast, and meet as many new people as possible! Thank you, IJBBA, for everything!
