To many, the show pig business seems like a wildly fun combination of pine shavings, feed buckets, pump-up sprayers and backdrops. Those days are amazing, but the bright lights of shows and sales all too often overshadow the trenches at home. Early mornings, late nights, long days and constant hustle are part of the job. Working on a show pig farm requires a level of passion, dedication and commitment that is impossible to measure and more difficult to find. It’s never easy, it’s often hard and it’s always challenging.
We often get asked why we do what we do. For me, it’s always been because we know somewhere, there’s a youngster with a dream to win their show and if we do our part, we can play a role in that endeavor. Over the years, we’ve relished the opportunity to share in the wins and experience the joy when dreams come true.
