We are so excited to announce that our next guest blogging family is….The Jensen’s from Courtland, Kansas!!!
When Luke first asked me to do a blog for the JNHE, I was like, sure that would be fun. While now the time is near as we prepare for the trip to Harrisburg, PA for our 14th Junior National as a family. Some of you may know us as the Jensen’s from Courtland, Kansas. Kevin and I have been involved in showing Hereford cattle since we were junior members and the passion has carried down to our children Brady, 21 Brooke, 18 and Ben 14. This photo that was taken at the JNHE last year in KC when Brady was named Champion Showman has special meaning as in 1979 Kevin was named Champion Senior Showman at Springfield, MO so 34 years later the family tradition continues. We have missed one year attending since Brady was old enough to show and it was in Tunica, Mississippi that year but we chose to stay home to attend the County Fair. This will be Brady’s last year to show at the JNHE so it will be a bittersweet trip however he has one year left to serve on the Junior Board. Our daughter Brooke is the National Hereford Queen so making this trip across the county a special one for all. Though times have changed as you will notice from the photos. JNHE has always been a family event and will continue to be for our family and many more that attend this great event each summer. One of our kids favorite memory to date is riding down the big hill on the hay cart at the 2005 Jr. National in Milwaukee with all their cousins. Safe trips to all and see you in Harrisburg.
