As the saying goes… “Everything is BIGGER in Texas!” and the state proved that by being selected as the Most Competitive Show State for the 2022 Best of the Barns.
This state boast over 550,000 kids in 4H & 150,000 Texas FFA Members! They have nearly 1,200 FFA chapters for youth to be involved in.
Complimenting all of the youth involvement Texas also host the most “Majors” of any state. This includes shows such as Fort Worth Stock Show, State Fair of Texas, Houston Livestock Show & San Antonio Stock Show just to name a few!
The Houston Livestock Show, which is one of the largest shows, is home to over 34,000 livestock entries. This includes open and junior exhibitors who will partake in showing over the course of this 20 day show.
If you’ve ever been to the Fort Worth Steer Show you know how extensive the quality is. This is the largest haired steer show and quite possibly the most competitive. This sale also boast that the kids get keep all the premiums from that sale of their animals which is an impressive feat within its own!
