Kiersten Jass, Iowa
Jass, is a sophomore at Iowa State University, not far from her home in Garner, Iowa. She is currently majoring in Animal Science where she hopes to obtain a job in agricultural sales after graduation. Jass has been an active member of both the American Junior Simmental Association and Iowa Simmental Association for 14 years, where she has held numerous positions, including a two-year term as state President. Since her younger years, Jass has admired and respected those who have been fortunate enough to serve on the national AJSA Board. Jass has served as an AJSA Trustee for the past two years and plans to continue becoming more involved in the organization, all while promoting the breed, encouraging youth participation, and representing her region with pride. She claims that educational contests and leadership activities provide juniors with the chance to gain valuable knowledge of the industry as well as the opportunity to gain lifelong bonds with those who share the same interests. If re-elected, Jass will continue to encourage youth to take advantage of all the opportunities offered and will strive to improve communication between the AJSA Board and Simmental members.
All AJSA members will vote for two trustees from their region at the AJSA Annual Meeting.
