Who will wear the Crown?

Since 1968, the Auxiliary has coordinated the Miss American Angus program in cooperation with the American Angus Association.

 

Each year five young women ( college freshmen) are chosen through scholarship competition beginning at the state level to compete for the title of Miss American Angus.

Since being announced as contestants in July these five young women have been busy studying and preparing for the contest which includes a written test, interview, impromptu questions and speech.

 

Miss American Angus serves as an ambassador and promoter of the Angus breed throughout the United States at shows, sales and events.

 

The contest and crowning will be held during the 2019 Angus Convention in Reno, NV later this week.

 


Claire Stevenson, Hobson, MT. Parents: Darrell & Sara Stevenson. Freshman at California Polytechnic University studying genomics and microbiology with a goal of continuously improving Angus genetics.

 


Eva Hinrichsen, Westmoreland, KS. Parents: Ron & Lynne Hinrichsen. Freshman at Oklahoma State University pursuing a degree in animal science with plans to become a medical doctor in a rural community.

 


Hailey Roye, Fayetteville, AR . Daughter of Leslie Roye. Studying animal science with an emphasis in beef nutrition at the University of Arkansas.

 


Mardee Sadowsky, Eagleville, MO. Parents: Jim and Teela Sadowsky. Attending Oral Roberts University with a future of serving God and others while being an entrepreneur.

 


Morgan Knapp, Bloomfield, IA. Daughter of Brian and Karla Knapp. Studying at Des Moines Area Community College with plans to share agriculture with youth while raising Angus cattle and pursuing a career in real estate appraisal.
