Welcome 2024 Sullivan Supply Marketing Interns!

We’re thrilled to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the amazing applicants who poured their hearts into applying for the Sullivan Supply Marketing Internship!  Your passion and dedication have truly blown us away.

After much deliberation, we’re excited to announce the three exceptional individuals who have secured the coveted spots:

Rebecca “Becca” Burgess is from Bunger, Texas. She began exhibiting cattle, sheep, and goats at an early age and has since fallen in love with helping others discover their passions in the show industry. In 2021, Rebecca served as a 4-H State Officer, and that leadership opportunity pushed her to realize her true passion lies within the livestock industry. She is completing her junior year at South Plains College, majoring in Agriculture Communications, and plans to graduate from Texas Tech University in December 2024. She currently owns ShowStarter, a multipurpose business that focuses on helping families start showing livestock and find their way to success inside and outside the ring.

“After spending a week with the Marketing Team at OYE, I could not be more excited to start my summer internship! I love working closely with exhibitors, and with the chaos the show industry can create, adding my own unique flare to the already elaborate marketing options Sullivan Supply offers will be an exciting opportunity. I am eager to work with and learn from the talented Marketing Team this summer! If you see me around at a show, let’s grab a frozen golden eagle with a soft top from Dutch Bros and discuss the show industry.”

Makayla Talley, originally from Craigsville, Virginia, resides in West Virginia, where she attends West Virginia University. She has been involved in agriculture from an early age, when she began working at her small family farm based around commercial cattle and quarter horses. After years of showing registered cattle on state and national levels and participating in FFA, she attended Hutchinson Community College on a livestock judging scholarship. After earning her associate degree at Hutch, Makayla transferred to West Virginia University in 2023, where she is honing her skills in agricultural extension and education. Upon graduation, Makayla hopes to obtain a career in agriculture education.

“I am looking forward to using my communication skills and working with the marketing team in the fast-paced show atmosphere! Getting to be a part of The Pulse Team is extremely exciting for me. I have admired their work and am eager to learn tips and tricks for the perfect shot. Having experience in the show industry, I am ready to expand my network and grow my marketing knowledge. My go-to Starbucks drink is a Caramel Macchiato blonde with extra caramel drizzle, and 4 pumps of white mocha. I am sure I will be having lots of those with all the early show mornings this summer!”

Kelly Duggins is an Oroville, California native currently residing in Arkansas. Her upbringing involved tending to a commercial cattle herd, but her passion for showing hogs emerged through livestock shows across the West Coast while also participating in livestock judging. After Kelly earned an associate degree at Linn-Benton Community College, she made the transition to the University of Arkansas in 2023. Kelly is currently focusing on agricultural education and contributing to the livestock judging team. Post-graduation, she aims to delve into a career centered on marketing, advocacy, and youth engagement within the agricultural sector.

“I aim to leverage my outgoing and communicative nature to contribute positively to this internship. Having been immersed in agricultural production during my upbringing, I look forward to shifting my focus to the marketing and outreach aspects of agriculture and gaining insight from the esteemed team at Sullivan Supply. Interesting fact! My favorite coffee order is a strawberry, vanilla, and coconut energy drink with cream at 7 Brew.”
