The 2025 National Junior Angus Show is just around the corner where the owned females will be in the fast lane! Your owned heifer judge will be Charlie Boyd, assisted by Blake Boyd.
Charlie Boyd joins us from Mays Lick, Kentucky where he and his family, Paula, Blake and Grace, and Logan own and operate Boyd Beef Cattle a five generation seedstock operation. Charlie has served on many cattle organization boards including the Kentucky Angus Association and the American Angus Association, both as President.
Charlie received his Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Kentucky. He has been fortunate enough to judge many National Jr. Shows, the Atlantic National, the All American Breeders Futurity and three foreign national shows. Charlie would like to encourage junior members to thank their family, always be able to adapt, never try to be someone you are not, and always put back in what you receive from an association or activity.
Blake Boyd resides in Mays Lick, Kentucky with his wife Grace. They along with Blake’s family operate an Angus and Hereford seedstock operation that has been in business for over 120 years. Boyd Beef Cattle hosts three production sales annually, selling over 200 bulls and females to progressive cattlemen across the country. Blake attended both Butler Community College and Oklahoma State University where he was on two nationally competitive livestock judging teams. As a past NJAS exhibitor, he is excited to have the opportunity to interact with the juniors in the NJAS owned heifer show.
