NJAA Herd Pick

🌟 Your April Herd Pick is Roy “Tripp” Gibson from Los Lunas, New Mexico! 🌟
⭐️ Tripp’s first National Junior Angus Show was in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2020. In 2021 he got even more involved and enjoyed participating in the Angus Mentoring Program (AMP) and experiencing opening ceremonies. His favorite contest is livestock judging, and he says that contests are a fun way to compete and meet new people. He encourages fellow members to try everything they can in the NJAA, and says, “You never know if you will find something new that you love if you don’t give it a try.”
⭐️ Tripp loves showing cattle, but he also loves the way that the Angus family takes care of each other. Through the NJAA, he has made friends from all over the country and had the opportunity to learn from fellow juniors. One of these mentors is Avery Dull, who he stalled next to at his first NJAS in Tulsa. The next year, he got to watch her run for the National Junior Angus Board. She set an example for him that with hard work, you can achieve your goals.
⭐️ When he’s not showing cattle, Tripp enjoys playing golf and roping. He hopes to continue his family’s ranching legacy as the 5th generation to raise cattle in New Mexico since their ranch was established by his great-great grandpa in 1941.
🌟 Keep up the great work, Tripp! Congratulations!
