Coming from California, I thought I understood summer heat—until I stepped into the Midwest humidity for the first time. As I traveled to numerous different states, I had a front-row seat to some of the most prestigious junior livestock events in the nation. From the heart-pounding grand drives at The Exposition and Charolais Junior Nationals, to the community-focused AGJA Junior Classic, the electric atmosphere of the Junior National Hereford Expo and the regional pride at South Dakota Spotlight—my journey as the Sullivan Supply Marketing Intern was anything but slow.
It was a long, fast-paced summer. Early mornings turned into late nights. Airports, fairgrounds and show results became routine. But in the midst of the miles, early alarms and content deadlines, I found something even more valuable—experience, knowledge and connections that will last far beyond the show season.
I had the opportunity to capture content that told the story of Sullivan Supply’s presence at each show—from social media campaigns and product features, to behind-the-scenes coverage and exhibitor spotlights. Each event brought its own energy, and with it, a deeper understanding of livestock culture, marketing strategy and what it means to truly serve the show community.
More than anything, this summer reaffirmed the value of hard work, quick thinking and being adaptable in a high-energy environment. I learned from industry leaders, collaborated with passionate youth and witnessed firsthand what it means to be a part of something bigger than yourself.
To every junior exhibitor, ag family, show jock and Sullivan Supply team member I crossed paths with this summer—from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your stories helped shape mine in a way that I will carry with me always.
