It’s not just an empty chair

This isn’t just an “empty chair” that sat in the middle of the show ring on Sunday afternoon during our opening ceremonies in Wahoo at the Cornhusker Showdown. This empty chair was suppose to have an exhibitor in it that day. This exhibitor was suppose to show her steer on those green chips that day!

Sunday morning as this family loaded up to spend a day with family & friends to do exactly what we all love, showing cattle, their life was turned upside down. They were involved in an automobile accident, and everything was a total loss, as well as the steer that was suppose to show on those green chips later that day. This family was all able to walk away from this accident, Praise God! (I am not going into any details as I do not know what all occurred, and its not my place say, so please don’t ask).

We made sure that this family was with us on Sunday, even if this chair sat empty along side the show ring. This empty chair will hold many memories for this family and the steer they unexpectedly lost that day.

If this picture doesn’t give you chills, you are in this industry for the wrong reason and purpose. We are all friends, we are all competitive, we all want to win, we all work so hard to get to the top, but the most important thing is that we will ALWAYS have each others love and support. Day in and day out, win or lose, good day or bad day.

Please keep this family and all who were involved in that accident in your thoughts and prayers – Casey Snell
