Tell us briefly about yourself?
My Grandparents, Karl and Sherry Hanza, both grew up showing livestock and being part of 4-H and FFA programs. They knew this way of life was how they wanted to raise their children and in turn how my parents wanted to raise me. I had my first show heifer when I was 7 years old and have shown many steers and heifers since then. There are 6 cousins that show together and 3 more that are impatiently waiting until they are old enough. I also play softball with the Athletics Organization out of Oklahoma.

What’s your favorite show?
My favorite show would probably have to be the American Royal. I was 2 months old the first time I went to the American Royal to watch my Uncle Bret show. I took my Lim-Flex heifer in 2019 and won Champion Limousin in the Jr and Open show. I am looking forward to going again in 2020.

What is your favorite thing to do in the barn?
I will wash heifers for as long as possible before I ever want to dry heifers.

What is your least favorite thing to do in the barn?
Drying heifers hands down. I like working hair, just not blow-drying to get them dry.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s in your show box at a show?
Probably cough syrup.

What breed do you show? Why do you like showing this breed?
I’ve shown a variety of breeds but lately, I’ve been focusing more on the Limousin breed because they take really good care of the kids in the Limi organization. This past year, I have made several friends that also show and raise Limousins.

What are some of your favorite products to use on your animals?
Rice root brushes.

What’s your show box staple item?
A variety of combs.

Tell us about your favorite show animal.
My favorite animal is SHSK Fergie aka Bad Ashley. She is the 2019 Medal of Excellence Lim-Flex Female. We have spent several hours on the road and in the barn together. I am so thankful that Jacob Hudlow, Bret Hanza, Shelby Skinner put her in my hands to love and show. To finish off her show career, she was named Reserve Supreme Heifer at the 2020 Oklahoma Youth Expo. She has been my best friend the last year, sometimes she would have a bad attitude with others, but we worked together so well. I am anxiously waiting for her to have her first calf; it should be any day now.

What is your favorite part about showing?
The excitement, hard work, and making memories with my family and friends.
