Known by many across the fairgrounds, Ernie Barnes is a dedicated supporter of youth in agriculture who has been involved with the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement since the 1980s. He has served as a ringman, Sale of Champions chairman, and even emceed the luncheon. He has served as the Iowa State Fair Swine Superintendent for over 20 years, where he helped design an IFAA office space to better serve exhibitors, secretaries, and interns.
