Eggers Showpigs is looking for a summer 2026 intern.

We are looking for someone to start the middle of May and work thru the 20th of August. Start date will be more flexible then end date. Finding someone that feels like the right fit, with the correct skill set is more important then anything to us. Looking for a hard working money motivated individual with a show pig interest, and the willingness to learn. This is not a position for someone wanting to go to shows, this is an opportunity to be part of the successful ESP team at the farm.

This individual will be involved in all aspects of the show pig operation. Successful candidates will be self motivated, hard working, responsible, punctual, and ready to learn. Show pig, sale barn, and picture pen experience a plus but not required. Production experience is a plus, but again, not required. Willingness to learn, being punctual and self motivated are required. Hourly pay will be competitive and dependant on experience and motivation.

We are located 25 miles east of Ames and this opportunity would be great for a Iowa State student or a similar individual looking to get experience in the showpig industry. For the right candidate this could transition into a longer term part time job after August.
