More about them:
The livestock industry has come together to support Florida youth, Dafaney Williams and Sterling Jerrels.
On July 17, Dafaney, 15, and her father spent the hot summer day at a cattle show in Florida, at one of Dafaney’s favorite shows. On their way home from the show, the two were involved in a tragic car accident, severely injuring Dafaney. She experienced trauma to her head and spinal cord. Dafaney was immediately transported to a local hospital and is now at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where she will be in rehabilitation for two to three months. Dafaney is a lover of all livestock, especially her 4-H steers. Dafaney is from Sorrento, Florida and is a member of her local 4-H chapter.
Sterling Jerrels was born a twin to Stetson on May 6. Shortly after coming home, Sterling was readmitted to the hospital with RSV. Sterling has been a fighter, surviving what most premature babies could not. After spending majority of his two-month life in the hospital, Sterling is now home continuing to get healthy. The day after Sterling was welcomed back home, twin brother Stetson, was also diagnosed with RSV. Stetson is currently being treated at home. Stetson and Sterling are the sons of Jamie and Lint Jerrels, avid cattlemen and supporters of Florida’s youth livestock industry. The Jerrels live in Bronson, Florida.
Agriculture families across the Southeast have rallied behind these children, offering prayers, support and hosting benefit auctions. Please donate and bid support of them, knowing the livestock industry will positively impacted by their strength in the future as they recover. All proceeds will go to the two families to help with medical expenses.
