Best of the Barns Show Mom of the Year – Beth Pembrook

“Mom is a verb. It’s something you do. Not just who you are.” – Dorothy Canfield Fisher. Being a mom’s not for the faint of heart, but reaching “Show Mom” status takes a special kind of dedication! The pay is generally collected in the forms of hugs, thank-yous and handing out high-fives after typically long days. This year’s Best of the Barns Show Mom of the Year is none other than Beth Pembrook, Fairview, OK.

She is adored by all and an awesome mom and show mom to her sons, Brett & Bryson. Beth has a strong passion for the livestock industry and is made of grit & love! Although she may fly under the radar most days, she is the backbone of Pembrook Cattle Company.

On a typical day around the ranch, you can find her feeding, calving out cows, helping in the show barn, and making dinner for the family. Whether Beth is at home or at a show keeping everyone in order at the chutes, you can guarantee that everything is under control and the job will get done to the best of her ability.

If you know Beth Pembrook, you already know that she is truly is a Superwoman. Her role in Pembrook Cattle Company is such an important role to keep the operation up and running.  Beth might be the person keeping everyone in line, but she also is a vital part in the selection of their breeding pieces of Pembrook Cattle Co.  During the 2022 North American International Livestock Exposition, Travis and Beth had the opportunity to sort through the Junior Angus Females.  Travis and the entire Pembrook crew are very proud that they get to call the Show Mom of the Year a part of their show team.

When asking individuals in the industry of how they would describe Beth, the words of “genuine”, “dedicated to Pembrook Cattle Co. and her children”, and “kind-hearted” came right up without hesitation. Riley Nipper, a close family friend, described Beth as the “hardest working human I know.” Riley also mentioned that Beth is very caring to her own family, along with everyone in her show family. “Beth took me in as one of her own, and I consider her my 2nd mom. She has taught me everything I know about showing cattle and is now teaching my daughter, Reece.”

Beth strives to be a role model for her boys and other youth in the industry.  She continuously teaches them to treat others how they want to be treated, be honest, and that they need to give respect, to be respected. She also values the importance of teaching the next generation of cattlemen to improve the show industry as a whole in the future. When Beth isn’t working with cattle, you can find her coaching sports in Fairview and active within their local church.
