We all desire control over our lives, but in a universe where everything is interconnected, none of us truly has absolute control over anything except ourselves. Even our control over ourselves is only indirect and partial. What we do have in abundance is influence, which seems to increase the closer others are to us, both personally and physically. Interestingly, our attempts to influence others do not always require conscious intent, unlike our attempts to control. Our 2023 Goat Operation understands their influence, although they are not in control they can use influence to make our industry better. Kempker Livestock is based out of Pomona, Kansas, and is owned and operated by Trent and Emma Kempker. Established in 2016, Kempker Livestock has raised and placed show goats for eight years. Growing up in the stock show industry, they are passionate about livestock and helping the youth. Trent and Emma graduated from Tarleton State University with Agribusiness degrees; Trent then completed his Masters in Agriculture Resources Science. They spent most of their free time studying genetics, clipping and picturing for different firms, and learning from some of the sharpest minds in the industry.
Kempker Livestock has genetic lines of donors and bucks from diverse backgrounds on which to build. They strive to raise livestock with unique handling qualities that are stout, feature an extreme look and build, and are still athletic. Kempker Livestock has been firmly established on the unwavering principles of integrity, honesty, and hard work. Trent and Emma are resolute in their commitment to giving back to the stock show industry. They steadfastly say that they owe their current success to the indispensable support of others along the way.
