Swine exhibitors, don’t be gilt-y of not knowing these rule changes!
Purebred/Crossbred breeding gilt exhibitors must be no older than 21 years of age as of January 1st, 2023. There is no minimum age; however, exhibitors must be able to exhibit their pig on their own with no assistance.
NEW: Purebred gilts will be shown by weight. Gilts must be born after Feb 1, 2023.
The market barrow weight range will be 230-300 pounds.
There will be a 15-pound tolerance from the declared weight. All animals outside of the 15-pound tolerance will be disqualified.
