Originally from Ohio, Courtney grew up in a family deeply rooted in agriculture. Raised around cattle and hay production, she was introduced to the livestock industry at an early age and has been involved ever since. “I was born into it,” Courtney said. “My family has been involved in cattle and agriculture for generations.”
Growing up, Courtney showed Hereford cattle and was active in FFA, serving as an officer in her chapter. In 2019, she moved to Texas to show Brangus cattle and quickly fell in love with both the breed and the state. One of Courtney’s favorite parts of her show career was the people she met along the way.
“My favorite memories from showing are definitely the friendships and connections I made,” she said. “Showing livestock allowed me to meet people from all over the country.”
Today, Courtney serves as a member of the Sullivan Supply Texas sales team. Having spent all of her life involved in the livestock industry, she enjoys helping exhibitors and families work through challenges and reach their goals.
“I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the counter,” Courtney said. “When someone comes to the trailer with a problem, I’ve probably experienced something similar myself, so I enjoy helping them find a solution.”
One of her favorite parts of the job is helping younger exhibitors and first-time show families feel comfortable and confident.
“If someone is new to showing and has questions, I’m always happy to help,” she said. “I want them to have a positive experience and enjoy being involved in the industry.”
When asked what advice she would give young exhibitors, Courtney kept it simple. “Ask questions,” she said. “Don’t ever be afraid to ask. Most people in this industry want to help you succeed.”
If you see Courtney in Abilene, TX this week, be sure to say hello!
