IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The USDA has approved funding through the National Pork Board to provide RFID reader equipment to exhibition swine for improved ease of traceability. This initiative is aiming to significantly reduce the financial burden of the transition to increased RFID tag use across the swine industry.
Readers can be distributed in correlation with a swine extension, state pork association, or an exhibition site with a registered and up-to-date Premises Identification Number (PIN). Current funding is only available through September 14, 2025, so NPB encourages exhibition groups and extension agencies to take advantage of this opportunity while it is available.
