“The Big House” to Get An Update

From the Oklahoma State Fair:

“The Jim Norick Arena — also known as “The Big House” — has provided lifelong memories for Oklahoma high school athletes, families and visitors from out of town for more than 50 years. Unfortunately, it’s rapidly approaching the end of its useful life.
Today, the Oklahoma City Council heard about the critical need to replace “The Big House” with a state-of-the-art coliseum. A new facility would generate $230 million a year in direct spending and $400 million a year in total economic impact. Those are dollars going to local restaurants, hotels and other businesses.
The OKC Fairgrounds draws 2.15 million visitors a year, and more than half are our Oklahoma City neighbors. It’s an important gathering place for our community.
Please support a new coliseum for MAPS4 and watch the video below to see our bold vision for the future.”
