2019 Best of the Barns Show Goat Operation of the Year | Fledderjohann Show Goats

You can’t mention boer goats without the name Fledderjohann coming up. Fledderjohann Show Goats (FSG) of Botkins, Ohio was started by a young, ambitious teenager who had dreams and goals of being the best. Jordan Fledderjohann began showing at a young age and exhibited numerous champions from the jackpot level to national shows and in between. He even captured the honors of top showman at the American Royal as a thirteen-year-old. Unlike most kids, who use the money to buy the next new shiny thing on the market, Jordan used his winnings to purchase does or even a buck to build his herd. Thankfully, his parents Clark and Kathy footed the feed bills to help support the dream they had together. What started as a small herd of 20 does has now grown into well over 175 head with projects being sold to over 15 states. This is well due to Jordan’s infectious personality. If you didn’t find him at a show with a cold beverage in his hand, you most likely could find him with his phone glued to his ear. Jordan had a special way of connecting with customers and would go to all ends to help them succeed.

Unfortunately, the industry lost one of the greats as Jordan passed last September, but his legacy continues to live on. His parents, Clark and Kathy, founded the Jordan Fledderjohann Memorial Fund to award scholarships to youth that share the same passion as Jordan. Additionally, a Jordan Fledderjohann Memorial Show is being held on July 11th in Eaton, OH in his honor.

Jordan impacted so many lives. He was a brother and role model to his showman as stated by Paige Pence, who showed many goats for Jordan. Tiffany Sunday, another one of his showman, owes her passion to the industry to Jordan. Jordan also touched many lives through his involvement as a Stock Show University Professor where he always bonded with the kids and his infectious laugh could be heard throughout the barns. Jordan may be gone, but he will forever live on through his herd and with those he impacted. Fledderjohann Show Goats will continue to impact the industry with Jordan watching from above.
