2018 Best of the Barns Junior Herdsman of the Year | Baylor Bonham

In 2018 we introduced a new category for the Best of the Barns Awards, the most prestigious awards in the livestock industry, chosen by the people of the livestock industry, which was the Junior Herdsman of the Year Award. What was the highlight of your Junior Career?
Baylor: I would have to say winning the Triple Crown. Louisville, Kansas City, and Denver back to back to back.

 

What advice would you give to Juniors?
Baylor: Dream big, if you pour your heart and soul into your dreams they will come true.

 

Who are the most influential people in your life?
Baylor: My dad, Steve Bonham, and my Uncle, Travis Otterstad

 

 

If you could have dinner with one person who would it be and why?
Baylor: Kobe Bryant, so I could learn the Mamba Mentality.

 

What is your go-to song/playlist/artist when you’re in the show barn?
Baylor: The Show Goes On

 

How did Bonham Show Cattle get its start
Baylor: My Grandpa started off as a vet in Cordell, OK., and then after a few years of doing that he started buying feeder calves and traded those for some time. My dad then started going and buying calves when he was about 15 years old and traded a few of them and from that moment on, Bonham Show Cattle started.

 

 

What is your main goal at Bonham Show Cattle, and what do you pride yourselves in?
Baylor: Here at BSC we are focused on working with kids and families daily, and making their projects better. We really take pride in our customer service and success. We strive for excellence at all times.
