We love speeches Wednesday!

PUBLIC SPEAKING
• Divisions competing are Junior, Intermediate and Senior.
• Speeches are to be the contestants original compositions (consultation is allowed in drafting process of prepared speeches).
• Notes are allowed.
• Speeches should be no more than six minutes long, points will be deducted for going over time.
• A random presentation order will be posted prior to the contest.
• A panel of judges will assess the speeches.
• The panel may pose questions at the conclusion of each presentation.
• Guests are admitted but are not allowed to prompt, cue or ask questions to any contestant.
• Visual aids will not be allowed.
Junior & Intermediate Division
Junior and Intermediate speech participants can choose any subject that pertains to the beef industry, Chianina or MaineAnjou
cattle.
Senior Division
Of the 3 topics below, you will select one topic to give a speech on. You will be allowed 1 (one) 3X5 note card.
-How has society’s increased use of social media impacted the showring? Good or Bad?
– What are genomically enhanced EPD’S and how do they benefit the beef industry?
– What is the current state of US beef carcass trends and how can our breed improve them?
