AIJCA Area II Director Candidate | Trisha Dybdal

Trisha Dybdal – Area 2 AIJCA Director Candidate

Hi everyone, my name is Trisha Dybdal. I am 16 years old and live in the rural area near Newcastle, Nebraska. I was born and raised on a family farm and ranch with a 300 head Charolais herd. This fall I will be a junior at Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington, Nebraska.

I have been a member of the Nebraska Junior Charolais Association (NJCA) since I was 8 years old and currently serve as the Vice-President and a Junior Ambassador. The NJCA has given me the chance to meet other Charolais Juniors across the state and serving as a Junior Ambassador lets me interact with the adult association while working the ring during state Charolais shows.

I attended my first AIJCA Charolais Junior National when I was 8 years old. This will be the eighth Junior National Show and Conference that I will participate in. I have been very involved in showing as well as each of these contests: resume, poster, graphic design, photography, art, speech, cook-off, talent show, quiz bowl, team fitting, and team sales. I enjoy participating in the contests and think they are great experiences each year as I have learned many skills from being involved in the contests. This will also be my third year as a mentor in the mentor-mentee program.

I have learned a great deal from being in the AIJCA and attending the Show and Leadership Conferences. I have had the chance to be part of the planning process of two Junior National – 2012 and 2017. I have loved attending Junior National each year and would like the opportunity to serve on the Junior National Board and give back to the AIJCA for what they have done for me.
